Nearly one year ahead of schedule and well in advance, the construction of the new seat of the City of Venice Archive is nearly complete. In Via Porto di Cavergnago and Via Pertini in Mestre, the new Archive is perfectly located and readily accessible by all means of public transportation.
In the characteristic “L” shape, the beautiful three-story building holds offices and public spaces that all may enjoy. The building, in addition to its attractive design, may also boast two entrances and ample parking spaces, both public and reserved.
The complex is nearly 7,500 square meters large of which 570 square meters will be dedicated to office space. The remaining space will house the city archives with a 60,000 meter document archiving capacity.
The project, winner of a City of Venice competition that was announced in March 2007, was developed bearing in mind the needs of the city , for an archive of important and significant dimension.
